Marpissa, formerly called Tsipido, was once a village of scholars and rich inhabitants. At the entrance of this manor we can see the date 1608 carved on the marble, together with a crest that probably belonged to a family of priests. It is one of the few manors of Marpissa that had a toilet.

Even on an island with beautiful beaches such as those of Paros, the idea of a private swimming pool has a special charm. However, the pool is a complex task, with too many options and significant cost. A pool that works properly, will give us valuable hours of relaxation, entertainment and sports. On the other hand, a poor construction or a wrong choice will not only increase the cost but is likely to threaten our very health.

Paros, like all the Cyclades, is studded with monasteries, smaller or bigger, built in the most beautiful spots of the island. Most of them were founded in the 17th century, a remarkable period for the island from many aspects. One of them is the monastery of Agios Georgios in Langada, Marpissa or Faranga (ravine), as it was called, because of the ravine that lies below the monastery.
