The Parian landscape is not always so fair coloured, rocky and dry, but has other faces as well, with different colours especially in spring. It’s the time when Paros becomes colourful from the poppies, daisies, amaranth, myrtle and spicy herbs.
Lefkes, Prodromos, Marmara, Marpissa: the Epitaph cubicles, covered in the colours and fragrances of the meadows arouse memories with their spring aromas.
Even on an island with beautiful beaches such as those of Paros, the idea of a private swimming pool has a special charm. However, the pool is a complex task, with too many options and significant cost. A pool that works properly, will give us valuable hours of relaxation, entertainment and sports. On the other hand, a poor construction or a wrong choice will not only increase the cost but is likely to threaten our very health.
Paros, like all the Cyclades, is studded with monasteries, smaller or bigger, built in the most beautiful spots of the island. Most of them were founded in the 17th century, a remarkable period for the island from many aspects. One of them is the monastery of Agios Georgios in Langada, Marpissa or Faranga (ravine), as it was called, because of the ravine that lies below the monastery.

Unlike the rather exaggerated marble paved road seeming to be leading nowhere, the whole quarry area gives an impression of abandonment. A uniquely exquisite exception, the modern marble sculptures found in the specially formed plateau near the ancient quarries.
How about a short trip into time? Our starting point will be at Lefkes, the queen of Paros’ mainland. A beautiful mountain village, with scattered neoclassical strokes of the brush, that enrich its known Cycladic character with the labyrinth narrow streets, the shady arches and the chaotic game of the white volumes of the houses.
