Routes in Marpissa
The wheat is sown, harvest is coming.
Do not boast before you see the end.
This year’s festival Routes in Marpissa is dedicated to the harvest in the Parian “katikia”, returning for the 12th year, consistent in its appointment with the public, on the 26th, 27th and 28th of August.
The harvest season as experienced in the local traditional communities of Paros outside and around the settlements, in the typical “katikés”, becomes an occasion to bring to life stories and practices of people who lived based on self-sufficiency, hard work, wise austerity and respect. Inspired by the Parian “katikés”, the philosophy and the way of life that they represent, workshops and stations-points of interest will be created in the traditional settlement, which will lead everyone on a thematic journey into the past, present and future.
At the same time, as every year, visitors will have the opportunity to attend an exhibition of contemporary art related to the subject, dance performances and concerts with a repertoire from jazz to traditional music.
